Jolene serves as Director of Strategic Operations for the I-School. Raised in a small town in South Texas, she came to Texas A&M to major in Journalism and, except for a short stint in Georgia and Kentucky, has called Aggieland home ever since. She’s held positions at Texas A&M and the Texas A&M University System, working in the Office of the Vice President for Finance and Operations, Transportation Services, and the Office of the Board of Regents, before joining the team at the School of Innovation in 2017.
Outside of work, Jolene enjoys listening to true crime podcasts, decorating with entirely too much spray paint, and attending Aggie sporting events. She met her husband, William ’89, on a blind date set up by fellow Aggies and they have two daughters – Conneley ’17 and Madeline ’20.
Favorite Fictional Character
Jo March in “Little Women” – she is willing to sacrifice to help her family and friends and she doesn’t settle in life or love.
'Go to' Band
Fleetwood Mac. I really like their “Live” album, especially “Go Your Own Way.”
Technology You Couldn't Live Without
GPS. I like to visualize where I am instead of just following directions and I like to know the direction I am heading. I also prefer the GPS to always be oriented “north up” instead of pointing the direction I’m heading. And I’m also one of those annoying people who give directions by saying “turn north” or “head south,” which I’ve been told is not very helpful.
